우리는 모두 비밀을 갖고 있다. 어떤 비밀들은 마음을 답답하게 만들기도 한다. 이 작품은 사람들의 그런 마음을 해소시킬 수 있는 경험을 제공한다. 바다를 형상화 하고자 한 이 공 간은 매우 역설적이다. 바다는 광활한 공간임에 비해, 작품의 공간은 좁고 어두운 밀실이다. 또한 바다가 물로 이루어져있는데 비해, 작품에서는 불을 사용하고 있다. 이러한 모순을 통 해 관람자들이 비밀의 특성에 관해 보다 깊이 있게 생각하도록 유도한다. 또한 사적인 비밀 들로 가득 찬 이 방에서는, 관람자가 자신의 비밀들 까지도 작품의 일부로서 풀어 놓을 수 있는 경험을 제공한다. 방 안에는 종이와 분쇄기가 설치되어있다. 바다에 파도가 부서지듯 이 나의 비밀을 적은 종이가 아주 잘게 부서지고 흩어진다. 지금껏 한 번도 누구에게 말해 보지 못한 비밀을 익명으로 풀어놓는 짜릿함과, 아무도 자신의 비밀을 볼 수 없도록 자신의 비밀이 분쇄되어버린다는 안도감을 동시에 느낄 것이다. 이러한 행위를 통해 비밀로부터 오는 상처를 치유받기를 바란다.

 

Everyone has one’s own secrets. Some secrets are so private that it becomes burden as itself. This project provides special experi- ences of healing by confessing one’s secrets. This room represents the ocean in a paradoxical way. While the ocean is a very extensive space, this room is small and dark. Moreover, the ocean consists wa- ter, but this artwork uses fire instead. Through using these paradox- es, the artwork leads people to think about the characteristics of secrets. Paper grinder is displayed in the dark room with paper pile. People can release their own secrets by writing secrets and grind- ing them. The paper is dropped and scattered just like the wave in the ocean. Through interacting with the artwork, people become the part of the artwork as a performancer.
