“빛”이라는 키워드에서 삶과 죽음이라는 커다란 주제를 도출해 내고, 그 사이의 흐름을 이루어 나가는 과정을 거쳐 탄생된 이 작품은 다이아몬드 형태의 치밀한 구성을 지니고 있다. 여백을 주지 않는 빽빽함은 곧 빛의 숨막히고 압도하는 느낌을 표현한다. 중간 구성 사진들은 모두 상 하좌우로 연관성을 가지고 있다. 좌측으로 볼 때는 난색 계열의 사진들로, 우측에서 볼 때에는 청색 계열의 사진들로 각 색마다의 연관성과 상반되는 키워드들이 공존하는 빛의 속성을 좀더 가시적으로 보여준다. 삶이라는 것이 무조건 반대되는 두가지가 있는 것이 아니라 달라 보이는 것들이 결국에는 하나로 귀결된다는 큰 주제를 읽을 수 있다.

 

From the keyword “light,” we drew a larger theme of life and death. The work, as it continuously connects the flow of meanings and images, ultimately forms a diamond of dense composition. Without any space for emptiness, the work expresses the overwhelming and yet meticulous trait of light. While all the pic- tures in between conveys a connected meaning or image, the cubic form allows visualizing dualism within light, and almost everything we perceive. Seen from one side or the other, viewer perceives images of different color tones, which is unrecognizable from the front view. The total form within the careful connections of pictures casts light on the idea of life, not as opposing dualism, but as harmo- nizing dualism.
