Art&Technology학과는 신설 학과이다. 무슨 과목들을 배우는지, 무엇을 위하여 만들어진 학 과인지, 미래의 진로는 무엇인지라는 등의 물음표가 끊임없이 따라다닌다. 아텍 30인은 그러한 Art&Technology라는 아직은 불분명하고 그래서 가능성이 무한하기도 한 공동체 안에서 다 양한 꿈들을 꾸고 함께 아텍의 밝은 미래를 위해 노력하고 있다. 과제와 프로젝트에 밤샘이 잦은 우리의 열정을 보면서 Art&Technology의 시작을 만들어나가는 우리를 특별한 모습으로 기록 해 보고 싶다는 생각이 문득 들었다. 선배도 없고, 정해진 길이 없어 가끔은 앞이 너무 깜깜하지 만, 그래서 좌절하는 모습도 보이긴 하지만 그러한 어려움을 딛고 나아가는 모두가 멋있고 아름다 워 보였기 때문이다.

그래서 깜깜한 듯 보이지만 속을 긁어보면 알록 달록한 색깔이 드러나는 크레용 스크래 치에 영감을 받아 아텍 30인 각각의 관찰을 통해 우리들의 얼굴을 크레용 스크래치로 도화지에 옮겼다.아텍30인의특징을잡기위해한명한명자세히관찰해나가는과정에서 30명모두를 사진찍어보고 그린그림을보며대화도나누며즐거운시간들을보낼수있었다.우리에겐 너무 나 좋은 기회였다. 10년 후의 아텍 30인의 모습이 어떨지 상상해보며 , 모두의 웃는 모습에 각자 의 꿈을 담아보려고 노력했다.

 

Art&Technology is a newly born major in Sogang University. As Art&Tech- nology students, we’ve always had these kind of questions: “What’s the purpose of integrating art and technology?”, “What do you guys learn?”, or “What are you going to do for a living?” Since we AT people are the first students majoring in a newborn discipline, we are trying to set up some steady routes for the bright future of Art&Technology against all the ambiguity and hardships we’ve encountered. Therefore, many of us often stay up all night doing projects together for a better result. Whenever we, the artists, see our AT friends working hard on their projects regardless of continuous sleep deprivation, we could easily feel their strong passion and affection for their own works. That is the reason why we suddenly, yet strongly wanted to draw AT people’s looks in a special way: crayon scratch art that people used to love doing as a kid. In the process of com- pleting our work, we tried to observe every single person as closely as we could to find out their characteristics. This was a very laborious, but meaningful moment for us, because we could be much closer to each oth- er and have chances to talk together. We are happy that we could make our efforts express joyful and delightful moments of AT people with our work, hoping there would be a bright future for us.
